Fossil Ridge Cheerleading is an extremely competitive cheerleading program that supports athletics at Fossil Ridge, the student body through peer events, the community through volunteerism and appearances, and competes locally, regionally and nationally. The athletes practice four days per week starting in May and through the summer and have additional weight room and exercise requirements. They will also take (grades 10-12) athletic weights as a full credit class at Fossil Ridge during the fall season if they make the team. Starting in August, the commitment can be anywhere from 5-6 days per week depending on how many games, appearances or events there are. There is little to no tolerance for absences so please review the schedule prior to deciding if Fossil Ridge Cheer is a good decision for you as an athlete and for your family. THE WORK IS WORTH IT but the commitment is a personal and family sacrifice because this is a TEAM sport and without the TEAM present we cannot progress in our skills. Coach Nikki is very transparent and will talk you through any pre planned events for whether or not it is feasible with our schedule.
POOR ATTENDANCE IS THE DOWNFALL OF ANY GREAT PROGRAM! WE PUT THE UTMOST IMPORTANCE ON ATTENDANCE AS WE BUILD EACH TEAM WITH THE EXACT AMOUNT OF ATHLETES NEEDED FOR IT'S SUCCESS. PLEASE REVIEW THESE DATES AND SPEAK TO COACH NIKKI ABOUT ALL CONFLICTS YOU FORESEE PRIOR TO TRYOUTS.
